Driven by a desire to lead full lives, live as members of a group doing things for themselves, their fellow beings and for the community as well, a handful of academicians, visionaries and professionals of northern side of Bangladesh dewombed Deepti Bhuban unto the limelight in the 8th of May, 1988. Construed to extend a helping hand to the suffering mass against recurrent vagaries of nature (flood & prone ) in the northern district; the arms of Deepti Bhuban have been engaged since then in the empowerment and mainstreaming of socio-economically marginalized and vulnerable rural sections by viewing development as a process of increasing the personal and institutional capacities of members to mobilize and manage resources to produce sustainable and justly distributed improvement in their quality of life consistent with their own aspirations. Deepti Bhuban has been registered as a voluntary development organization under government of Bangladesh.
Deepti Bhuban has its personnel policy, which is followed in operation of the organization. At least 50% staff members are female who are equally treated in all cases. Women employee allowed work with flexible duty hours and they enjoy other facilities, like annual leave, maternity leave and earned leave. There is separate fresh room for the women employees and a congenial working environment was ensured. No discrimination is allowed during recruitment and salary/benefit fixation.
Since 1992 over the years Deepti Bhuban has grown into a multifaceted development organization covering a total of 67 upazilas of 13 districts and Dhaka Municipality of the country till December 2024 and gradually expanding its programs to other areas.
